Description of the Cottage

The Blackberry Cottage is a country-side villa for rent, strategically located between the Cinque Terre and the Gulf of the Poets.

It consists of a 17th century tower, in which 4 bedrooms are distributed on 3 floors, and an 18th century single storey extension, which incorporates the open kitchen, the dining area and a small sitting area next to the fireplace.

The terraced garden outside offers a beautiful natural extension of the cottage. Andrea, the gardener, takes a very good care of it. You will be impressed by the variety of plants and flowers around you.

In the good season meals are served outside, while enjoying a breath-taking view.

A great location

If you love being near the seaside and walking, Blackberry Cottage will enchant you. Hiking lovers can set out towards Riomaggiore or Portovenere following the marked paths, one of which starts just from outside the house. Bird-watchers will be enchanted too. But if you prefer to take it easy and enjoy a bit of peace and quiet, we suggest you relax in a deck chair on one of the terraces in the garden.

A fully equipped, easy-to-live house

We want you to experience a peace-of-mind holiday. Thanks to a lockbox, you can arrive and leave at your convenience. The Blackberry Cottage is fitted out with care: you will find free Wi-Fi Internet, washing machine, micro-wave, satellite TV, as well as other amenities. Bed lines and towels (including beach towels) are provided for. Please feel yourself at home, and indeed it is our home when we are in Italy.

A gorgeous garden

The cottage is surrounded by a series of connected terraces following the natural contours of the hillside. Andrea spends a lot of time during the whole year to make sure that the natural cycle of the garden is supported to reach his majesty over spring and summer. Enjoy your meals under the pergola or rest on a hammock under the big pine, it’s worth it!

Perfect for families

In the cottage can sleep maximum 8 people, distributed in two double bedrooms and two bedrooms each with robust pine bunk beds. There are also a newly refurbished bathroom and a small bathroom at the first floor. It is ideally suited for two couples with children, or for a group of friends.
In case you come with small kids you will find toys and other useful items (cot, pot, small cutlery, etc.)

Never ending panorama

From the garden and the windows you can enjoy the fantastic panoramic view over the Poets’ Gulf, with the Lerici’s Castle and the Apuan Alps to the East and Tuscany’s coast to the South. It’s really pleasant and relaxing. Some said that he could see even the Pisa Leaning Tower… give a try!

History

Originally a 17-th century watch tower, to protect local people from pirates, it was enlarged in the 18-th century with a single storey extension. It was abandoned after World War II and bought by our parents in 1975. Since then it has been completely restored, maintaining the character of the area. We have been renting it since 1985 to ensure funds to maintain and improve it over the years. It will be difficult to find a holiday home in Cinque Terre with the same charm and history.
